Alas, we made it to episode 4!
The mix on this episode was recorded @ ((SHAKE)) @ The Vagabond, a couple months back during one of our Rockers Vs Bros nights. It is a continuation of our “Who Is Killing Rock N Roll?” series, picking up where the 60’s left off… the 70’s.
Now, the 70’s is too big of an elephant to capture in 110 minutes as Rock N Roll subdivided itself into many different sub-genres (e.g. prog, kraut, space rock, glam, art rock, heavy metal, punk, post punk…and so on). So I decided to focus on the Punk Rock/Power Pop/Garage 77 vibe first, and I promise in other episodes we will explore those other sub genres. I do have to confess that I did place 3 tracks from the 80’s and a song from the 00’s (Exploding Hearts) in this mix, but the tracks fit nicely and they definitely have that spirit of 77. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did putting it together.

I dedicate this mix to Jose El Rey, Able Folger, Dominic Sirianni, Ahol Sniffs Glue, and the rest of the ((SHAKE))/Vagabond crew. A special shout out to my friend, Ben Carillo… one of the only power pop experts in Miami and definitely an influence in this mix. He still has my Rockers DVD, but I will always have mad love for the guy.
…and For those who have been bugging me for a new electronic music mix, I should have a mellow electronic mix next month… something to chill all of you out!
